In recent years, China's motorcycle sales continue to decline, in which the domestic market is seriously shrunk due to the dual pressure of the prohibition and restriction policy and market adjustment. After long-term development, China's motorcycle manufacturers have formed a long-term stable market in these areas, and there is still a certain market space in overseas markets.

The overall production and marketing situation of the motorcycle industry is closely related to the development of motorcycle parts, which includes a wide range of products. The booming demand of the motorcycle industry will directly drive the development of the parts industry. When the overall development of the motorcycle industry is hindered, the parts industry is also gradually declining.

However, due to the failure factors and the replacement demand of parts, the decline trend of the parts industry will be slower than that of the motorcycle industry. Therefore, in recent years, the motorcycle industry has declined due to the urban prohibition and restriction of motorcycle, but the decline of the parts industry is not obvious. Like automobile, motorcycle parts are the basis of vehicle product innovation.

From the perspective of technical structure, motorcycle is a complex total system, which is composed of engine, fuel supply, ignition, transmission, walking, braking, control and other subsystems, involving hundreds of parts.

The large displacement motorcycles developed by many enterprises have not been mass produced or problems occur frequently after mass production, mainly because the quality of key parts is not up to standard or the consistency of production is poor. Therefore, the innovation of motorcycle parts is an important driving force for the technological innovation and development of vehicle products, and an important guarantee for the common development of vehicle enterprises and parts enterprises.

At present, all parts and components of motorcycles in China have basically realized independent production. The main parts and components of motorcycles are domestic products, while the imported products are less. The production capacity and cost performance of parts and components are among the top in the world. In addition to meeting the domestic market demand, China's motorcycle parts are also sold overseas.

From the perspective of exporting countries, Asia is the main export market of motorcycle parts in China. The main export countries of motorcycle parts in China are: India, Nigeria, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, the United States, Egypt, the Philippines, Brazil, Thailand, etc.

In terms of the types of exported parts, China's motorcycle export products are mainly wheels, shock absorbers, engines and so on, among which wheels are the largest. In 2014, among the top 20 enterprises in terms of export value of motorcycle parts, 4 were wheel manufacturers, accounting for 44.53% of the total export value of the 20 enterprises.

With the implementation of national standard IV for motorcycles, China's motorcycle parts industry has entered a new stage of development.

On the one hand, emission standards raise the technical threshold, motorcycle parts enterprises must vigorously develop new technologies and new processes to improve product technology and manufacturing level.

On the other hand, due to the improvement of emission standards, the comprehensive production cost of parts enterprises has increased significantly. Motorcycle manufacturers need to improve their own management level, implement lean management objectives, control the quality of batch products and manufacturing costs, so as to reduce internal consumption and improve the comprehensive situation.

China's motorcycle parts enterprises will start from improving technology research and development capabilities and lean management, improve the overall level and efficiency of the industry, and promote the mutual benefit and common development of the parts industry and the whole vehicle industry.
